UBC professor Dr. Mark Martinez receives two TAPPI awards

Professor Mark Martinez of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of British Columbia has received two TAPPI Division honours presented during the annual Awards Ceremony at TAPPICon in Cleveland, Ohio, on Monday, April 29.

The university shared in a press statement that Dr. Martinez received TAPPI’s Paper & Board Division’s Technical Award & Harris O. Ware Prize, as well as the Research and Development Division’s Technical Award and William H. Aiken Prize.

TAPPI’s Division Technical awards are presented in recognition of outstanding accomplishments or contributions which have advanced the industry’s science and/or technology in each Division’s respective field through technical reports, publications, Standards, TIPs, or in related or comparable efforts including teaching, writing or editing textbooks.

TAPPI is a global association for the pulp, paper, packaging, tissue and converting industries. It has been providing training and networking to the industry’s leaders for nearly 110 years.
